My first journey took me to India in 2006. After chancing upon the work of Steve McCurry, a renowned photographer from the Magnum Photos agency, I was inspired to travel there and capture my own images. I purchased a Canon 350D, arranged my passport and visa, and set off for India without hesitation. As my first experience outside of Korea and in a different climate, the five-week trip was astonishing and filled with daily discoveries. I immersed myself in various cities across central and northern India, capturing its multifaceted essence through my lens. Except for the final few days when I suffered from enteritis, I took over 500 photographs daily, gradually mastering camera control and photographic techniques. It was during this transformative period that my deep passion for travel and photography was born.
